Program Description:
Technologies to Enhance Training
Do you want to enhance your training programs with Web 2.0 technologies? Have you heard of
technologies such as blogs, wikis, and twitter? If you don't know what they are or if you
do know and would like to know more about how to use them to improve training, this
program is for you.
The program will begin with an overview of Web 2.0 and specific examples of Web 2.0
technologies that you can use to enhance a training program. Next, there will be a
discussion of Intel (wiki) and Ace Hardware employee learning community case studies.
Included in the program will be a demonstration of a wiki. This month's program is being
delivered by a panel and you will learn:
- What are Web 2.0 technologies such as
- How learning communities enhance learning
- How to use a wiki through a demonstration
About the Panelists:
Lisa Neal is Editor-in-Chief of ACM eLearn Magazine http://eLearnMag.org,
and an e-learning consultant. She is Adjunct Professor in The Department of Family
Medicine and Community Health at Tufts Medical School. Lisa was awarded the 2003 U.S.
Distance Learning Association (USDLA) Award for Most Outstanding Achievement by an
Individual in Corporate/Business. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Harvard

Dave Wilkins' more than ten years of practical experience in the eLearning,
simulation, and Performance Support System (PSS) industries complement his educational
background in teaching and adult learning, making him the ideal person to help drive
content and product strategy in his current position as Mzinga's Senior Director of
Workplace Solutions.
Prior to his current role, David was the Senior Director of Product Strategy for
KnowledgePlanet. Prior to its 2004 acquisition by KnowledgePlanet, David dedicated many
years to Knowledge Impact as its Director of Tools and Technology, overseeing the
development of two flagship simulation and performance support products.
Joe Wehr is President and Founder of DBMI, a consulting firm with a 35 year history
of assisting clients in the introduction and application of leading edge technologies to
accelerate organizational performance. Expertise and services include design, development
and delivery of classroom training, elearning and rich media communications. DBMI is based
in Connecticut and offers services nationally.
Recently Joe has focused on wikis and other Web/Enterprise 2.0 technologies and their role
in fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing and learning in organizations. Joe helps
organizations through the process, including culture change, to successfully implement
wikis.

Train The Trainer
We will be repeated the popular Train the Trainer Program in the Late Springr in
June. In the mean time, this program was SOLD OUT and each time it

name on the list! We will be planning to run another session of this popular ASTD program
in the Spring of 2007 or earlier depending upon demand.
