We are a rapidly growing medical manufacturer based in the Metro West area, and we are seeking a Training Coordinator to join our fast-paced team.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Develop comprehensive employee training programs.
  • Obtain “snapshot” of all existing training programs. Gather all materials for review by management.
  • Solicit from all department heads the job descriptions of all employees. Work with each department head to develop criteria for training modules for each employee subset.
  • Develop initial global plan for completion of comprehensive training program. Plan should include prioritization of tasks, time lines and expected order of module integration.
  • Training should include not only job-specific information, but also such items as initial introduction to the appropriate company, company philosophy, goals and mission statements and human resource issues.
  • Modules should incorporate, as appropriate, study materials, video observation, hands-on instruction, mentoring and any other training methods required to optimize outcome.
  • Modules should incorporate training materials which can be purchased and rapidly integrated as well as materials which are developed internally.
  • Program should include testing with grading criteria, remediation training where necessary and methodical advancement.
  • Training should include introductory, median and advanced level training of lean manufacturing principles, Theory of Constraints (TOC) and quality assurance metrics allowing for applicable personnel to advance along the training continuum.

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • At least 3 years experience developing and presenting training programs
  • Experience training lean manufacturing principles, Theory of Constraint (TOC) and quality assurance metrics preferred

Primary Responsibilities

Responsible for developing and delivering DelValle Institute education and training curricula, exercises and other programs to achieve the Institute’s mission, with a focus on programming within the Institute’s Planning and Preparedness Training Section.

  •  Research, develop, and conduct exercises, competency-based training programs and educational materials to support public health preparedness and response to terrorist incidents

  • Identify and evaluate existing curriculum and materials for accuracy and relevance to local needs; coordinate projects with internal and community partners

  • Participate in quantitative and qualitative evaluation activities to measure the effectiveness of exercise, training and education programs and ensure accurate, professional and high quality replication of course curriculum.

  • Represent the Institute on local and statewide committees and workgroups, as assigned.

  • Performs other duties as required.

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS required: Advanced degree in public health or a related field is preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years experience in an education/training setting. Public health or related positions preferred.

  • Certification in a related area of specialty is preferred, such as the Emergency Management Institute’s Master Exercise Practitioner Program, Office of Domestic Preparedness Instructor, Hazardous Materials-Operations or -Technician Level, Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic; and/or experience in a related area such as public health preparedness or hospital emergency planning.

  • Experience in design and delivery of public health, public safety and emergency preparedness and response training is preferred.

  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills are required, as is the ability to work collaboratively with others while under pressure.

  • Experience in designing PowerPoint presentations and conducting medical literature searches

  • Knowledge of public health and emergency preparedness response systems in Metropolitan Boston and familiarity with Boston, its neighborhoods and customs

  • This position requires direct client/patient contact and as a result of such direct contact, certain immunizations will be recommended and/or required prior to commencement of employment duties.

  • Boston Residency Required or willingness to relocate.
